Key West Artisan Market Celebrates Independence Week with Three Special Events During the 2025 Key Lime Festival

KEY WEST, FL – Independence Week in Key West will be bursting with local flavor as the Key West Artisan Market hosts a vibrant three-part market series in conjunction with the 2025 Key Lime Festival. Taking place over the July 4th holiday weekend, each pop-up offers locals and visitors the chance to celebrate the season with shopping, live music, fresh food, and plenty of Key Lime flair.

The festivities begin on Thursday, July 3, with a special edition of the Truman Waterfront Farmers Market, taking place from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. as part of its regular weekly series. In celebration of the holiday weekend and the Key Lime Festival, the United States Coast Guard will be in attendance all afternoon with interactive boater safety exhibits, vessel displays, games, giveaways, and more. The Coast Guard Band will perform live during the event, and at 6:00 p.m., a dramatic Search & Rescue demonstration will take place in the harbor. The market will also offer a wide selection of fresh produce, prepared foods, Key Lime desserts, and crafted goods from local makers. A full bar and food trucks will be on site. The day concludes with a sunset reception aboard the CGC Ingham Museum from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., open to the public with a suggested donation and cash bar.

On Friday, July 4, the Artisan Market sets up at the Southernmost Beach Resort for a Mini Market from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in celebration of the biggest day of the Key Lime Festival. Against the backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean, attendees can shop from an exclusive collection of talented artists, crafters, and makers offering everything from tropical-inspired artwork to Key Lime-themed gifts. A full bar and delicious food will be available throughout the day. At 1:30 p.m., the beach becomes the stage for the iconic Key Lime Pie Eating Contest, drawing a crowd eager to witness (or join in) the messy and memorable spectacle.

The long weekend wraps up on Sunday, July 6, with the Red, White & Blue Key Lime Festival Edition of the Key West Artisan Market at Higgs Beach, located at Sonny McCoy Indigenous Park. From 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., guests can enjoy a robust open-air market featuring handcrafted goods, fresh produce, local seafood, tropical jams, baked goods, honey, artisan cheeses, soaps, and more. Iced coffee, smoothies, and fresh juices will be available, along with savory eats from food trucks (including crowd favorite Cousin’s Main Lobster) and vendors. Admission is free, and the market is pet-friendly, with ample free parking and bike racks available.

These events are part of the broader Key Lime Festival, a multi-day island-wide celebration of Key West’s most iconic citrus. With pie-eating contests, distillery tours, culinary showcases, and community activations, the festival draws thousands each year for a uniquely Florida Keys experience.

“The holiday weekend is a perfect opportunity to celebrate our freedom by supporting small businesses, connecting with neighbors, and enjoying everything that makes Key West such a special place,” says Sean Krikorian, event organizer. “Whether it’s the music, the food, the handmade goods, or the pie—we want people to experience it all.”

All events are free to attend and suitable for all ages. Attendees are encouraged to bring reusable bags, ride bikes, and shop local.
