FRINGE THEATER TICKLES YOUR FUNNY BONE WITH SUMMER FUN

Fringe Theater Key West closes its fifteenth season of theatrical merry-making with the
heartfelt and hilarious Miss Abigail’s Guide to Dating, Mating, and Marriage, written by Ken
Davenport and Sarah Saltzberg. This interactive comedy runs June 11-15 at 7pm in the
Key West Armory located at 600 White Street.

The comedy is based on Abigail Grotke’s book by the same name as the play. It is a
collection of “classic advice for contemporary dilemmas.” The theatrical production opened
off-Broadway in 2010 with Eve Plumb in the title role. Since then, the fictional characters of
Miss Abigail and Paco have traveled the world imparting quaint and quirky ‘Dr. Ruth meets
Emily Post’ style of relationship advice.

It’s important to note, that Miss Abigail has walked the walk of true love with her beloved
husband Robert, who passed away seven years ago. Inspired by twenty-five years of
marital bliss, Miss Abigail took her relational expertise on the road. With the help of her
devoted assistant Paco, Miss Abigail is now the relationship guru to the stars! (No, of
course we will not name drop. But if we did, it might just rhyme with Crad and Crennifer!)

What can the audience expect?

Loads of fun! And maybe even some take-home prizes. Ask The Looking Glass and Love
Lust or Stalking are just two examples of the games Miss Abigail plays with the love-lorn
members of the audience. And of course there will be very practical real-world hands-on
exercises to be experienced, like the classic This Stool is Free.

But wait, there’s more!

Could true love be developing on stage, and does Miss Abigail have the courage to take
her own advice and grab it?

Fringe’s production of Miss Abigail’s Guide to Dating, Mating, and Marriage is directed by
Rebecca Tomlinson. The show stars Caroline Taylor (last seen in Fringe’s hit comedy Five
Lesbians Eating a Quiche) and Aramis Ikatu (last seen in Fringe’s staging of Ben
Harrison’s hit musical El Isleño 1921). The show features light design by Kendall Cameron
with Thomas Masat and Samantha Laskey on run crew. Miss Abigail’s Guide is sponsored
by the Key West Business Guild.

Tickets are available at www.keystix.com or by calling the KeysTix Box Office at 305-296-
7575. The show runs five nights only and offers special summer pricing! Advanced tickets
are recommended. For more information about this show, go to www.fringetheater.org or
